Calendar

       The following is a list of dates for student performances and booster meetings.  Please check back frequently for any changes that may be made.

 

September 23rd: Wind Ensemble performance at the CGHUS football game. Student arrival time is yet to be determined.  Students will need to wear nice jeans (no holes) and their band shirt. - Please keep checking for updated info for this event.

September 26th: Music Booster meeting 6:30pm in the band room.  We will be electing officers for the year. Please join us!

Week of October 3rd: Fundraiser items will be in.  - Check for updated info for this week.

October 17th: Music Booster meeting at 6:30 in the band room.

November 5th: Music at the Mall - Advanced Choir and Wind Ensemble will be performing for this event.  Choir students will need to wear nice jeans (no holes) and their choir polos to the event.  Wind Ensemble members will need to wear nice jeans (no holes) and their band shirt. Band members will be performing at 10:25am, and choir at 10:45am. - Please keep checking for updated info for this event

November 22nd: Music Booster meeting at 6:30pm in the band room.

November 29th and December 1st:  After school rehearsal for the Electric Light Parade for all 7th and 8th grade band students.  This is a requirement of all students marching.

November 30th:  Band field trip to see the Phoenix Symphony.

 December 3rd:   Electric Light Parade.  7th and 8th grade band students will need to be at Cactus Middle School at 4:15pm to prepare for the parade.  Students will ride the bus to and from the parade.  If you would like to pick your student up after the parade, you will need to meet us at the end of the parade route.  We will not be waiting and students will not be released to leave without and adult.  The parade is a part of the performance grade. *Ms. Stewart will need 2 parents to assist with the parade.  If you are interested please let her know.

 December 5th:  Choir concert at the CGMS auditorium - This is for all choirs. Call time for students is 6:30pm, and the concert will start at 7pm. Please note that not participating in the concert will result in a failing grade.  Concerts are 50% of the final grade.  Students are to wear the following:
-Choir Polo (available from the booster program)
-Kaki slacks (not dickies), Bermuda shorts (classy), or skirt (past knees)
-Brown dress shoes (no tennis shoes or work boots) and socks (flats are recommended for the ladies)

December 13th: Band concert at the CGMS auditorium - This is for all bands.  Call time for students is 6:30pm, and the concert will start at 7pm. Please note that not participating in the concert will result in a failing grade.  Concerts are 50% of the final grade.  Students are to wear the following:
-Wind Ensemble girls:
Black dress (provided)
Black flats or heels (no tennis shoes)
Wind Ensemble boys:
Tuxedo shirt (provided)
Vest and bow tie (provided)
Black slacks (no dickies)
Black dress shoes (no tennis shoes or work boots)
6th and 7th Grade Concert Band:
White dress shirt
Black slacks or long black skirt (past knee)
Black dress shoes and socks (no tennis shoes or work boots)
